Description

After immobilization of nine to twelve weeks, when the patient starts using the joint, they develop severe pain, swelling and unable to flex the joints. Due to prolonged disuse, all the soft tissues become hard. Physiotherapy should be given immediately after immobilization. By step by step method, pain and swelling reduces in ten to twenty days. If the patient continues exercises guided by the physiotherapist, full range of movements can be brought back to normal.
